Turn Your Time Into Hope
To us, volunteering is about more than just tasks; it’s about people coming together to change the story of sarcoma. Every hour, you gift to team Sarcoma UK, directly ensures that everyone affected by sarcoma receives the best possible care, support, and hope for the future.
We see the incredible value in every contribution. Whether you find satisfaction in the quiet support of helping behind the scenes in our office, or you love the electric atmosphere of stewarding events and cheering at marathons, there is a meaningful place for you here.
You don’t need to be an expert to belong to this community; you just need to care. We are ready to welcome you with open arms, flexible roles that fit your life, and the knowledge that you are doing something extraordinary.
More than Just Giving Back
Giving your time shouldn’t just be about hard work, it should be fun, rewarding, and good for your well-being. We’ve designed our volunteer roles to help you learn new skills, step out of your comfort zone, and meet fantastic new friends; all while being fully supported by our dedicated team.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to know a lot about sarcoma or cancer?
Not at all. You don’t need to be a medical expert to make a difference. Whether you are organising postal packs in the office or cheering at a race, we provide all the briefings and information you need. We truly believe that your enthusiasm and kindness are what powers our mission.
What happens after I fill in the form?
Once you register your interest, a member of our team will be in touch with you. We’ll have a quick, informal chat to find out what you enjoy doing and match you with the perfect opportunity.
Will it cost me anything to volunteer?
It is very important to us that you are not out of pocket for supporting us. We reimburse reasonable expenses for the days you volunteer, in line with our expense policy.
I don’t live in London. Can I still help?
Yes! While our office and micro-volunteering roles are based at our headquarters in London, our fundraising and events roles happen across the UK. From cheer points in Manchester to collections in Edinburgh, team Sarcoma is nationwide.
Is there an age limit?
We generally welcome volunteers aged 18+. However, for certain events and cheer squads, we can welcome volunteers aged 16-17 if accompanied by an adult. If you are under 16, getting involved in fundraising at your school is a great way to start!
I have a disability or access needs. Can I still volunteer?
We strive to make team Sarcoma as inclusive as possible. Many of our roles, especially office-based micro-volunteering, are seated and accessible. Please share your specific needs with us when you apply, we will work with you to find a role that ensures you are safe, comfortable, and valued.
