Financial support and sarcoma

This page explains which benefits and financial support may be available if you have sarcoma. It also links to information about health-related financial support,  additional benefits, support for carers and frequently asked questions.

A sarcoma diagnosis can change many parts of your life. For a lot of people, it can affect finances. Some people might need to work less or even stop working completely. You may also have extra costs like travelling to hospital appointments.

You might be eligible for government benefits if you, or someone you care for, has cancer.

What are benefits?

Benefits are payments from the government. They are for people who need financial help due to:

  • illness
  • disability
  • low income.

There are also benefits for carers.

If you have sarcoma, you might be able to get some benefits. The application process is sometimes confusing, and can take a long time. Our information will help you understand which benefits you might be able to apply for.
