Opera singer Mark Llewelyn Evans has been named the newest celebrity ambassador for Sarcoma UK.
Mark, whose father died from sarcoma cancer, has been a good friend of the charity for a number of years. He hosted last year’s inaugural Shining Star Awards in Downing Street, our carol concert and a live auction at the Glitter Ball this April.
The Welsh baritone’s long and successful career has seen him sing at international opera houses, in films and for crowds before Six Nations rugby matches.
Announcing Mark’s appointment, Sarcoma UK’s Chief Executive Richard Davidson said: ‘We are thrilled to welcome the incredibly talented Mark Llewelyn Evans as a new Sarcoma UK ambassador. Having seen his own father lose his life to sarcoma, he has long been involved with our charity. His powerful voice will resonate in the sarcoma community, inspiring others and amplifying our mission. We look forward to working closely with Mark as he helps us in our mission to make a positive difference to everyone affected by sarcoma.’
Mark said: ‘Sarcoma cancer has deeply impacted my family, and I’m honoured to take on this ambassadorial role with Sarcoma UK. I’ve witnessed first-hand the devastating effects of this rare and aggressive cancer, and I’m committed to raising awareness, advocating for research, and supporting those affected by sarcoma. Together, we can make a difference in the fight against this disease.’
