As the year draws to a close, Sarcoma UK’s Chief Executive, Richard Davidson, reflects on 2025 and thanks everyone who has supported people affected by sarcoma.
As 2025 comes to an end, our Chief Executive, Richard Davidson, has shared a Christmas message to thank everyone who has supported Sarcoma UK this year.
Over the past 12 months, more than 1,000 people took part in fundraising challenges, helping to fund vital sarcoma research, run our Support Line, and support our campaigning work for earlier diagnosis and better care.
More than 1,000 people reached out to our Support Line for help in 2025, and our team was there for every one of them.
This year, Sarcoma UK funded 18 research projects focused on diagnosing sarcoma sooner and developing more effective treatments. We also worked to increase understanding of sarcoma among the public and healthcare professionals. By sharing the stories of people affected by sarcoma and their families, we secured more than 500 pieces of coverage across national, local and international media. During Sarcoma Awareness Month, tens of thousands of healthcare professionals engaged with our work on early diagnosis.
Our Unique Among Cancers report helped bring sarcoma to the attention of decision-makers across England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland, with sarcoma raised multiple times in Parliament.
In his message, Richard also acknowledges the many ways supporters contributed throughout the year, from fundraising challenges and creative projects to community-led events.
You can watch Richard’s full Christmas message in the video above.
As we look ahead to 2026, we remain committed to supporting everyone affected by sarcoma and continuing to push for earlier diagnosis, better treatment and improved care.
