Support Line Advisor

Carly studied Midwifery at Nottingham University, qualifying in 2006 and working between the community and hospital settings. She completed an Obstetric Ultrasound course in 2009, scanning and practising as a Midwife on the Day Assessment Unit for many years. During this time, bereavement care became her primary focus and in 2018 she was appointed as the Bereavement Specialist Midwife, a new position created at the Trust. In this role, she worked within a multidisciplinary team and built supportive relationships with baby loss groups, charities and volunteers to enhance the care provided to families, also facilitating a local bereavement steering group.

Carly is committed to providing personalised care and empowering clients by providing them with honest and thorough information. She believes in supporting informed choices and acting as an advocate for clients. She has completed a mentorship course, and her work as a Supervisor of Midwives enabled Carly to network with colleagues working at other Trusts and fulfil the desire to support the professional development of peers and provision of safe, holistic care.

Carly enjoys spending time with her family, playing at local parks and visiting new places. She loves sports and fitness, particularly netball, cycling and running.
