We work to improve care, treatment and outcomes for people affected by sarcoma by influencing the NHS and policymakers across the UK.
Our Policy and Public Affairs Team uses evidence from people affected by sarcoma and healthcare professionals to show where change is needed and make the case for better care and treatment.
Raise awareness and influence decision-makers
We raise awareness of sarcoma and make sure the issues affecting people with sarcoma are heard by policymakers, Ministers, elected representatives and the media.
We also work with partners, including Cancer52, to make sure rare cancers are represented in wider cancer policy discussions.
Improve access to treatments and clinical trials
We advocate for better access to clinical trials and new treatments.
We also submit evidence when organisations such as NICE and the Scottish Medicines Consortium are considering whether new treatments should be available on the NHS.
Work with the sarcoma community and NHS
We work with people affected by sarcoma and healthcare professionals to identify problems in care and improve people’s experiences of diagnosis, treatment and beyond.
We also bring together professionals involved in specialist sarcoma services to discuss how care can be improved.
Build the evidence for change
Our policy work is informed by research including Unique Among Cancers and the National Sarcoma Survey 2025, as well as what we hear from people affected by sarcoma and healthcare professionals.
