Sarcoma UK is delighted to be named one of the eight charity partners for Jingle Jam 2024, the major annual gaming fundraiser.
As a charity dedicated to supporting those affected by sarcoma cancer and funding vital research, we are honoured to be included alongside outstanding organisations like the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), War Child, Autistica, Wallace and Gromit’s Grand Appeal, Whale and Dolphin Conservation, Cool Earth, and The Trevor Project.
What is Jingle Jam?
Well, think of it as a massive fundraising event along the lines of Children In Need, Comic Relief or Stand Up 2 Cancer, but instead of sitting down to watch performers on the telly, it’s thousands of people tuning in online to watch live-streaming from top content creators and gamers.
And it is hugely successful. Jingle Jam has raised over £25 million since 2011. Just last year the event raised £2.7 million, awarding transformative amounts to the charities that take part.
And there’s a bonus for people who make a donation over the minimum amount – access to the Jingle Jam Games Collection! The games – collectively worth many hundreds of pounds—are provided for free by incredibly generous video game publishers and developers.
As our Chief Executive, Richard Davidson says; ‘The gaming community’s passion and generosity through Jingle Jam present an amazing opportunity to raise awareness and funds that will allow us to invest more into sarcoma research while providing crucial support to sarcoma patients and their loved ones. We look forward to engaging with Jingle Jam’s creators and donors over the coming months.’
So, whether you are a PUBG genius or if Pac-Man is your most recent experience of video games, you can follow our partnership with Jingle Jam in the coming months. Strap yourself in!
Jingle Jam runs from 1-14 December 2024. #JingleJam2024
