Communications Manager
Mark joined our team in January 2024, bringing with him 19 years of experience in the charity sector. Prior to joining us, he served as Director of Communications and Advocacy at the Medaille Trust, a charity that provides refuge and support to victims of modern slavery.
Mark is a trained journalist and spent a decade working for the Guyana Broadcasting Corporation, starting as a reporter and eventually becoming Editor-in-Chief while hosting three live radio programs. He moved to the UK in 2002 to pursue a Master’s Degree in International Journalism. Following his studies, he worked as an Advocacy Manager for Life Charity, which provides housing and support for pregnant and homeless women.
Mark will be utilising his expertise to help increase our media presence and raise awareness of sarcoma.
Apart from his professional work, Mark is a cricket fan and supports England, having switched his allegiance from the West Indies. He also enjoys gardening, cooking, and participating in community activities. Currently, he is leading a project to launch the first Hindu temple in Oxfordshire this year and is involved in an inter-faith initiative promoting friendship and respect among various communities in Oxfordshire.
