Tony Oswin Tovar is based in Fort Worth, Texas. Running the London Marathon has always been a dream of Tony’s since he finished his first marathon in Chicago.
‘It’s an honor to be selected to run the London Marathon on behalf of Sarcoma UK’, says Tony. ‘Cancer impacted me personally when my childhood mentor & father figure, David Carlson, was diagnosed with leiomyosarcoma’.
Unfortunately, David did not survive, but Tony says he was brave enough to endure the journey and documented the walkthrough of his entire treatment.
‘Now, cancer has struck again, and my friend, neighbor, and community leader and entrepreneur Lisa Little Adams was recently diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer’, says Tony.
‘As a way to celebrate their courage, grit, and kindness, I’m going to finish the London Marathon and raise as much money as I can for Sarcoma UK. Enough is enough – we need a cure and to give people love and hope.’
Recently, Tony organized a drag bingo show at Proper Cocktail Bar in Fort Worth, Texas. It was a sold-out show and the event made more than $800. Yes, Gawd!!!
‘I had fun. It brought the community together, raised awareness of sarcoma, and celebrated #PrideMonth!’, says Tony.

Each year our Team Sarcoma champions raise hundreds of thousands of pounds for the sarcoma community at the world famous London Marathon. Everyone who runs with us receives personal support, fundraising materials and loads of enthusiastic advice throughout their training and on the day itself.
