After losing their brother, son, nephew, grandson and friend to Ewing's sarcoma after a short 18 month battle at just 22 years old Tom's family and friends have been fundraising to improve the care and treatment for sarcoma patients.
Ewing sarcoma is a very rare type of bone cancer that forms as a tumour in the bone or soft tissue. "Tom's symptoms were so minor to such as an achey back and night sweats and he was turned away by hospitals with sports injuries a few times. Tom was such a brave and inspirational person through his journey and he always wanted to help others with the same condition," says his sister, Katie.
Tom passing has left a massive void in all his family and friends lives and he’ll never be forgotten.
The family have taken on inflatable 5K obstable courses, run the Great South 5K as a huge team and raised funds through birthday fundraisers, ensuring Tom leaves a positive and lasting legacy that will change the lives of people affected by sarcoma.
