Million-dollar boost for Ewing's sarcoma research - October 2020

Three reseach teams in Dundee and the USA  have been awarded $1 million each, the equivalent of £760,000, from Stand Up To Cancer and Cancer Research UK to investiagte treatments for Ewing's sarcoma.

Immune system could be trained to spot drug-resistant cancers - July 2020

Immunotherapies could be targeted to treat cancers with specific drug resistance mutations, a new study has found. The team from the CRUK Gene Function Laboratory and Breast Cancer Now Research Centre at the Institute of Cancer Research (ICR) studied incidences of resistance to chemotherapy associated with reversion mutations (a type of genetic mutation) in breast cancer.

Personalised treatment plan using mouse models successfully treats sarcoma relapse in Spanish patient - July 2020

A team from the IDIBELL Oncobell program and researchers of the Catalan Institute of Oncology in Spain conducted a real-time personalised study to test the best treatment options for a patient who had Malignant Peripheral Nerve Sheath Tumor (MPNST), a type of soft tissue sarcoma.
