Marcus Gynn passed away in February 2016. Having not heard of sarcoma before, his friends, colleagues and family took to fundraising in his memory: running marathons, taking part in football matches, selling cakes, holding music nights...

Earlier this week, Jessica, Charley’s wife, and Harriet, her sister, presented Sarcoma UK with £60,000 to set up Charley’s Fund. The fund will directly support Sarcoma UK’s cutting-edge research programme which includes projects that focus on new treatments such as immunotherapy, which Charley was personally interested in. It will also support research looking at how a simple blood test could be developed to identify genetic markers for sarcoma. This could make diagnosis quicker and easier, and lead to more effective treatments.
