See you next year!

Sarcoma may be the loneliest cancer but on Saturday night in London, we’ll be together enjoying an evening of good food, plenty of drinks and top notch entertainment at our first Glitter Ball✨ .

The evening will be a riot of entertainment with Enchorus, a roof-lifting London choir who you’ll have seen alongside Sam Smith in their video for ‘Stay With Me’. Spellbinding soprano, Sally Harrison, will enchant with a special selection of song for the evening. High energy party band, Fully FunKtional will be getting us on our feet with their feisty funk and fun performance. DJ Ashley James (Hoxton Radio) will keep the floor hopping until late. Your comperes for the evening will be the incomparable Bounder & Cad, the duo that not even 10 Downing Street could keep quiet!

There’s also an auction with some stunning prizes, including drinks with Hugh Grant before the London premiere of his forthcoming HBO series, The Undoing; Eddie Redmayne’s wand from the Fantastic Beasts films; a one-week stay in Swiss resort, Verbier and much, much more.

There are also exclusive prizes to be won on the night including tickets to a special charity preview of the forthcoming James Bond film, No Time To Die, before it goes on general release in November, and deluxe tickets for the Harry Potter Studio tour.

We were a little surprised and hugely heartened that the event sold out extremely quickly. Kerry Reeves-Kniep, Director of Fundraising at Sarcoma UK, hopes to make Glitter Ball an annual event: ‘Most people on the night will know sarcoma intimately, and we know that it can be lonely living with sarcoma because most people haven't heard of the disease. The Glitter Ball is an event that brings patients, families and friends together to have fun, but also to show that the sarcoma community is active, alive and making change for the better. For us, it’s essential to make sure sarcoma patients and their families have the best night possible.’

Proceeds from the evening will be invested in our mission to ensure everyone affected by sarcoma receives the best treatment, care, information and support available and to create the treatments of the future. Watch out for photos and video from the night on our social media. #SUK2020
