Possibly the most important event for the sarcoma community in the UK calendar is the annual British Sarcoma Group conference. Over two days, 26 and 27 February, a who’s who of specialist clinicians, nurses and supporting professionals who treat patients with sarcoma in the UK will exchange ideas, learnings and generally connect in a way that joins the dots between the important work being done across the four nations.

This year the theme is 'working together to improve care for sarcoma patients: what matters to you – matters to us'. With that in mind, we will be there to share initial findings from the National Sarcoma Survey as well a look at the impact of collaboration through the Sarcoma UK Support Line.

For the first time, there will be an opportunity for patients and carers to take part. The Patient & Carer Event takes place on 27 February from 11:30 – 13:30 when sarcoma patients and their families are invited to meet third sector charities and discuss ‘what matters to you and your family?’.

We are also looking forward to catching up with the winners of our inaugural Tricia Moate Award: Lucy Dean, Senior Physiotherapist and Sarcoma Lead at the Royal Marsden; Charlotte Harvey-Wright, Advanced Practice Radiographer in Sarcoma Oncology at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust; and Charlotte Betteridge, Children’s Occupational Therapy Team Lead at UCLH.

The Sarcoma UK team will be well represented at the event, so please look out for us – we want to talk.

If you’re not there in person, keep an eye on our social media platforms for a flavour of the event and you can follow @TheBSG_UK on Twitter and the #BSG2020 hashtag.

The Sarcoma UK Support Line team will be at the event so the Support Line phone service will resume on Friday 28 February at 10am.
