Last September, 48-year-old John was diagnosed with Stage 3 Spindle Cell Sarcoma, affecting the soft tissue in his lower left leg. John went through radiotherapy and in early 2017 had surgery to remove the tumour and fibula bone. John and his partner Alexa are now set to take on a self-imposed challenge: driving and hiking around Scandinavia to raise awareness of sarcoma and funds. #TeamSlightlyLost set off on June 8. “Sarcoma is so rare we need to help raise awareness and educate the health profession. Even our GP practice had to look Sarcoma up! By fundraising for Sarcoma UK and Macmillan we hope that in some small part we will help. From diagnosis to surgery, the hundreds of individuals we have met on this road have been beyond words.”
