Sarcoma UK’s research programme in funding only high quality research has been acknowledged by the Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC) in the award of a successful audit of our peer review and research management procedures.
As a member charity of AMRC, we participated in the audit which allows AMRC and its member charities to demonstrate to stakeholders – including the government, researchers, funders and donors – the commitment to the highest standards of accountability and probity in the allocation of grants and awards for research.
AMRC audits the peer review processes of its member charities every five years. Our audit submission was assessed according to key principles of peer review: accountability, balance, independence, rotation and impartiality.
Sarah McDonald, our Director of Research, Information & Support said “We are delighted to have our Research Programme recognised as world class, demonstrating the commitment and hard work of both our Research Advisory Committee and those who undertake peer review of our applications. Our supporters can be confident that any investment is made following a rigorous and high quality peer review college to ensure the best research is awarded.”
