On 17th September, nine gentlemen from the same family, with varying levels of fitness, take on the challenge of the Richmond Half Marathon, part of Richmond Runfest. The family have come together to raise funds and awareness for Sarcoma UK.
Healy Grandsons run Kew Half Marathon in memory of Aunt Sharon
Sarcoma was something we had no idea about, until March 2016 when our Aunty Sharon was struck by this rare form of cancer. Sarcomas are rare cancers that develop in the muscle, bone, nerves, cartilage, tendons, blood vessels and the fatty and fibrous tissues.
Sharon was a fun loving, caring and wonderful person, who spent much of her time thinking of others. She had a genuine interest in people of all ages. We will remember her as the Aunty who always arrived bearing gifts and an endless supply of delicious homemade cakes. Sharon’s greatest gift was herself, as she remembered each one of us from our childhood through to our adulthood. Now it is our turn to remember her.
The chaps taking part are Daniel Healy, Chris Chandler, Patrick Manton, Francis Manton, Omar Farag, Ronan McNamara, Conor McNamara, David Shetcliffe and Dominic Shetcliffe.
If you have a place and would like to join the guys and be part of #TeamSarcoma, we'd love to have you.
